The spacious second floor units are airy and bright.
The simplex units and duplex units are just like small townhouses or houses. Simplexes have backyard patios on common ground, kitchen, living room, formal dining room, two bedrooms, and bath.
Duplex owners enjoy bedrooms and bath on the second floor and a kitchen, living room and formal dining room on their first floor.
Common charges (monthly maintenance) are all inclusive, covering all utilities (heat, hot water, gas, electricity and basic cable television).
General Information about Interlaken Gardens
As a shareholder in a cooperative, you do not legally own your unit. Instead, you purchase shares in the Co-operative Corporation that entitles you to a proprietary lease on your unit. As a shareholder, you are entitled to vote for the Board of Directors and have a voting weight equal to the number of shares you own. You essentially receive the same tax advantages as if you bought a private home or condominium. Not only can you deduct the interest on your co-op loan, but also you can deduct a proportionate share of your monthly maintenance payments that are spent on taxes, etc.
Interlaken Garden's all inclusive, low monthly maintenance charge includes the town and county real estate taxes, school tax, utilities (heat, hot water, gas, electric), basic cable television, garbage and bulk pickup by the Town of Eastchester, private beach and lake privileges.
There are 24 detached one-story garage buildings in addition to outdoor assigned spaces. Garages and spaces are not transferable with the sale of the units.
Not permitted. All units must be Owner occupied.
No dogs allowed (except service or therapy dogs). Cats are permitted (maximum 2 per apartment).
Smoking is prohibited inside units sold to new Shareholders. Interlaken has been a smoke-free cooperative since 2007. Current smoker shareholders are asked to be courteous toward their neighbors and should operate at least one air purifier at all times.
In addition to the beach and Lake, Interlaken has a playground on its common grounds, as well as a playground and basketball court located on the Lake premises.
